Today, 29 April 2023, the Douala Maritime Museum was honored by the visit of Mr. Laurent Galy, an expert working for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), accompanied by Mr. Jean Nlend, Director of Maritime Affairs and Inland Waterways at the Ministry of Transport, Cameroon.
The guests of the Douala Maritime Museum (DMM) viewed all the exhibitions consisting of paintings, photographs, objects and videos. Mr. Laurent Galy was edified on the traditions of Cameroon's coastal peoples and German occupation of Cameroon through various exhibitions.
Mr. Laurent Galy was delighted to discover an exhibition offered by the IMO to the Douala Maritime Museum in 2022. This special exhibition from London marked the 70th anniversary of the IMO and focused on the theme "Better shipping for better future". Mr. Galy's visit and that of many other IMO experts in the past are evidence of the excellent relationship that exists between the IMO and the DMM.
