CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Some members of cultural clubs from a host of secondary schools based in Douala visited the Douala Maritime Museum on Wednesday, 29 March 2023. The activity was organised in a bid to promote and develop tourism among young people and in schools.

These young students visiting the museum were accompanied by Mrs. Florence Akono, Head of the Tourism Promotion Unit at the Littoral Regional Delegation in Douala. The guided tour of the museum's exhibitions was an opportunity for them to discover the maritime history of Cameroon and to see some of its artifacts first hand.

Such visits are amongst the recommended activities to promote ecotourism in schools. As a reminder, this measure was instituted by Mr. Bello Bouba Maigari, Cameroon's Minister of Tourism and Leisure.
