Ahead of the awareness-raising seminar to be organised by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) in Garoua tomorrow, 17 May 2023, Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop, CNSC Director of Shippers' Assistance, along with other CNSC staff met with the Customs Chief of Sector for the North Region, Mr. Raymond Touagaï.
This visit was an opportunity for a brief exchange on cargo entry routes in the region and some of the difficulties encountered by various foreign trade stakeholders.
For Mr. Raymond Touagaï, awareness raising is an essential factor in boosting the economic competitiveness of Cameroon’s northern regions. In this light, he reiterated the readiness of the Cameroon Customs to support the CNSC in the accomplishment of its missions in the North; concretized by a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 5 August 2022 between the CNSC and the Directorate General of Customs.
A similar visit was paid to the regional delegate of transport for the North, Mr. Ali Doubla, who guaranteed the CNSC delegation of the necessary technical support for a successful seminar, and even for other initiatives envisaged by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council in the North Region.
