On 9 March 2024, Mr Hamid Djoumino, General Manager of the Chadian Shippers' Council (Conseil des Chargeurs du Tchad), paid a visit to the CNSC Dibamba Trucker Accommodation Centre in the Littoral Region.
This visit was a follow-up to the working session he had the previous day with the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda. During this meeting, he was reassured of the CNSC's willingness to share its expertise with COC-TCHAD.
The guided tour, conducted by CNSC Director for Trade Facilitation and Transport Observatory, was therefore an opportunity to present the practical realities of truck drivers using the Douala-Ndjamena and Douala-Bangui corridors.
The COC-TCHAD chief executive was accompanied by a representative of a Chadian truck drivers' union as he visited the various facilities provided for the safety and comfort of truck drivers, including a parking lot, lodging facilities, an eatery, a mosque, a power generator, a water tower, security posts and a refuelling station.
They were delighted to see a facility packed full with trucks constantly on the move, and praised the CNSC's commitment to the safe and swift movement of goods along Cameroon's main road corridors.
The CNSC Dibamba Trucker Accommodation Centre is located at Missole 2, some 10 km from the Port of Douala. It is an accommodation facility for freight forwarders and other actors of the transport chain.
