CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Financial incentives to the tune of 2 billion CFAF have been awarded to shipowners and shippers using the Container Management Terminal (RTC) of the Port Authority of Douala (PAD).

This was during a ceremony organised on Friday 28 June 2024 in Douala, in the presence of Mr. Younous Soungui, Deputy General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC).

Amongst those who left with the highest rewards were shipowner Maersk Line Agency Cameroon (273.9 million CFA francs), importer CONGELCAM (149.4 million CFA francs) and exporter SODECOTON (63.9 million CFA francs).

A number of foreign businesses such as Industrie Forestière d'Ouesso (CFAF 6.1 million) and Thanry Congo (CFAF 6.1 million) from Congo Brazzaville also received this special reward. An official ceremony is envisaged in the Central African Republic and the Republic of Chad for the award of rebates earned by businesses from these countries.

This initiative by the RTC is in line with a resolution signed on 30 November 2023. The sum of 2 billion CFAF (excluding taxes) awarded by the Managing Director of the Container Management Terminal (RTC), Mr. Lin Dieudonné Onana Ndoh, was apportioned based on the volume of full TEUs moved by these shippers
