CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 28 January 2026, the Douala Maritime Museum welcomed African football legend and President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Et'o'o Fils, on a visit to discover Cameroon's maritime and port history. The arrival of this iconic figure caused quite a stir, attracting a large crowd that gathered in front of the museum to welcome him.

Accompanied by the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, Samuel Eto'o Fils walked through the various exhibitions that trace Cameroon's maritime history, from early trade exchanges by coastal tribes to the strategic role of the Port of Douala to the nation's economy, and a hands-on experience of the museum's interactive navigation simulator.

“The Douala Maritime Museum holds records of our history. Visiting this museum offers an opportunity to learn about Cameroon's past, and I encourage anyone interested in learning about Cameroon to stop by”, Samuel remarked at the end of his tour.

In acknowledgement of his interest in promoting Cameroon's history, Samuel Eto'o Fils was designated Ambassador of the Douala Maritime Museum by CNSC's General Manager, whose gift of a sculptured canoe was a fitting memento of this special occasion.
